adaptability: building while uncomfortable

I recently posted about some of the places I've lived while making my way toward financial and location freedom.

I've slept in my work van. I've lived in the middle of nowhere while renovating properties. I've stayed in the basement apartment of one of my multi-families. And I've called a beachfront hotel in Belize home.

The list of places I’ve lived is a little unhinged, but it reminded me how important adaptability has been to my success.

That willingness to be uncomfortable is one of the biggest reasons I'm where I am today.

Like living in my renovations was one of the least comfortable times of my life. But it also got me way ahead in creating the life I wanted.

Right now I live in a beautiful place in Miami, and I love and appreciate every single thing about it.

But I can also sleep on an airport floor or camp in the middle of nowhere.

I see that adaptability as a superpower.

When you're not afraid of being uncomfortable, nothing can really stop you.

You trust yourself because you know you will do what it takes to make it happen.

Ask yourself…

Is there a part of me that wants to push further but I’m scared to get uncomfortable?

Looking back, the uncomfortable moments I was most afraid of turned out to be the ones that gave me the freedom I was working so hard for.

p.s. I just got back from a great camping trip with my mom. I had the best sleep score of the whole year✨

I used to think I had to work my way into the bigger deals. Then I realized, I didn’t have to wait to go after what I really wanted. I just had to shift my thinking. So I did. And it changed everything.
Thinking bigger, sooner has allowed me to…
  • Close over $100M in deals (and counting)
  • Built a lucrative personal/professional brand
  • Become a thought leader in the industry
