Are you Stuck in Survival Mode?
I spent YEARS grinding..like 12 hours a day / 7 days a week. I loved the work and growth, but I couldn’t stay in that phase forever.
Finding balance and slowing down aren’t really my style. But the more I practice, the more I’m getting used to it and the more I’m getting out of it.
Before, when my whole life was work, I was in survival mode just trying to make it through that moment. Thinking, “I just need to get by now.”
Honestly, I wasn’t really able to think or see past myself.
Now, because I put in the work and experienced the growth, I’m able to slow down and see where I can include others and share what I’ve built.
Like recently I planned the most epic surprise weekend for my ride-or-die, my best friend, Ginger. We grew up together. We’ve started businesses together.
I literally wouldn't be where I am today without her. And I wanted to show her in a big way.
So, I made a game of it. I wrote down two activities at a time on little cards and let her pick what we did next without looking.
We had a glamorous dinner and a movie night. We went go-karting. We went on a shopping spree. We went to a speakeasy.
And we finished off the weekend with a beautiful mountain hike and Krispy Kreme as our reward. (Check out her reactions in the IG Reel I posted. Priceless.)
My favorite part was taking her on the shopping spree. I knew she’d fight me on it, but I really wanted to spoil her. Of course she picked out a boujee winter coat. Lol…so Canadian! I love it.
Today, I’m focusing on finding balance and slowing down, not because I’m losing ambition. But because I’m finally able to live the life I always dreamed about.
I’m focused on my health, my future, and building in the space for the people I care about.
I’m building in the time, freedom, and energy I will need to have a family one day.
The truth is, you have to start living the future you want before it shows up.
Think Bigger, Sooner isn’t just for business…it’s for every part of your life.
My WHY is still the same as when I started: be my own boss, financial freedom, travel
But as I’ve grown, my reasons and approach have too.
Have you checked in with your WHY lately? Does it need to grow to meet you where you are now?
Are you so in the grind that you are in survival mode? Is it time to come up for air and take a look around?
