There are two types of people in this world: those that cautiously dip their toes in to test out the water and those that dive in headfirst

I have to admit, I've always been proud to be part of the latter. The most common question I始m asked these days is, “How did you get started in real estate?” Until recently, I never really knew how to respond to this but usually said something along the lines of, “I just did it.” I始m usually pretty comfortable in the unknown. Probably because I learned early on from the best (my mom) to trust that I will be successful if I put in the effort. 

I bought my first house (pictured above) at 18 years old jumped into real estate full time at 24, and – by using the BRRRR (Buy, Rehab, Rent, Refinance, Repeat) strategy – quickly grew my single-family portfolio. That being said, transitioning from a small-town landlord to investing in out-of-state commercial real estate took me some time to wrap my head around. 馃く

After spending almost two full years in a state of analysis paralysis, I eventually convinced myself to purchase my first apartment building. Closing on this deal, I realized that commercial investing is way more passive, scalable, and lucrative than I ever imagined. My immediate reaction was, why didn始t I do this sooner?! 

Since then, I have put my strengths to use by teaming up with industry leaders in the commercial real estate space; experienced professionals who know the ins and outs of commercial investing and specialize in identifying and operating large apartment buildings, self-storage businesses, and industrial properties. 

After recently reflecting on where I've been and where I want to go – I can confidently say the secret to getting started, scaling, and to being successful in real estate is thinking bigger sooner
