Reconnect with your WHY

Hi from Belize!  

I've been here for the past few months working on the design and expansion phase of Mariposa Beach Resort. 

I was never happy during Canadian winters. I would barely leave the house because it was so miserable outside. It’s a dream come true to be able to escape the cold.  

From working with the wonderful staff and eating great food from our restaurant, to soaking up the quiet forest and the beautiful beach, I keep being reminded why I wanted to invest in this magical place.  

I’ve also been renovating and designing one of my favorite parts of the property…the treehouses!  

I’ve been working hard, but I'm still feeling energized! And I know it’s because I get to do the work I actually love.  

Watching everything come together and creating special spaces is so rewarding. I'm working on the weekends because I actually want to.  

I've been getting back to my DIY design roots and remembering how much I love it. That has been key to my success...finding what brings me joy and figuring out how to monetize it.  

I share my story because I want to inspire others to think bigger, sooner. That mindset shift had such an amazing impact on my approach to real estate investing and my approach to life.  

Before I could think bigger, sooner, I had to know what motivates me, what brings me joy. I knew I didn’t want to be stuck in one place working a 9-5 job and that I love being creative. That's my WHY.    

What is your WHY?
