Reconnect with your WHY

During spring of 2025, I spent a few months working on the design and expansion phase of Mariposa Beach Resort. 

I was never happy during Canadian winters. I would barely leave the house because it was so miserable outside. It’s a dream come true to be able to escape the cold.  

From working with the wonderful staff and eating great food from our restaurant, to soaking up the quiet forest and the beautiful beach, I kept being reminded why I wanted to invest in this magical place.  

One of my favorite parts of the property is the treehouses. And I loved customizing each space with one-of-a-kind designs.

When I get to do work I actually love, I find myself working hard and feeling energized at the same time. During this project I was working on the weekends because I wanted to.

Watching everything come together and creating special spaces is so rewarding. That has been key to my success...finding what brings me joy and figuring out how to monetize it.  

I share my story because I want to inspire others to think bigger, sooner. That mindset shift had such an amazing impact on my approach to real estate investing and my approach to life.  

Before I could think bigger, sooner, I had to know what motivates me, what brings me joy. I knew I didn’t want to be stuck in one place working a 9-5 job and that I love being creative. That's my WHY.    

What is your WHY?

In the picture at the top, is one of the treehouse designs. I first saw the inspiration for it 10 years before I finally found the perfect spot.
