scarcity vs. abundance mindset
I was raised in a scarcity mindset household.
I was taught to work hard, save every penny, don't get into debt, and take care of things yourself.
And honestly…that foundation is what got me started.
When I turned 18 and bought my first property, I had money to invest because I'd always been working and saving.
And when it came to renovations, and I didn’t have money to pay people, I figured out how to do what was needed myself.
Scarcity got me to that first step.
But then it started to hold me back.
When I was renovating and managing my residential properties, I had no freedom.
I'd built myself a big job. Everything depended on me, and I was scared to change that.
I was scared to spend money on employees. I was scared to invest in education.
I wasn’t ready to trust anyone else with what I'd built.
I was stuck.
Then I started learning about abundance mindset and the idea that there is enough opportunity and success for everyone. And something clicked.
I didn't have to protect everything so tightly. I didn't have to do it all alone. There was actually more available to me if I could shift my perspective.
I began to see how working with others and having partnerships created more leverage, way faster, than relying only on myself.
I started building a team. And I finally started having the financial and location freedom that I’d been working so hard for.
I’ve come a long way, but sometimes that scarcity mindset still creeps back in.
It’s a practice. A daily choice to shift my perspective and expand what’s possible.
So if you're working hard but feeling stuck, ask yourself…
Is my mindset holding me back?
