the hardest part of success
Hi everyone,
I've spent most of my adult life chasing big goals, building businesses, renovating properties, taking risks, and making sacrifices to get where I am today.
When you're working toward something big that most people around you don't understand, it can be hard.
And nobody really talks about how lonely building a successful life can be.
You miss out on things. Friendships change. Relationships become harder to maintain. And sometimes you find yourself on a completely different path than the people you started with.
I recently came across a video where someone was asked what the biggest cost of success had been.
She answered,
Loneliness.
That video instantly made me cry because of the truth of this in my own experiences.
Not everybody can go where you're meant to go.
Sometimes we're afraid to move forward because we want to still keep our old life and have the people we love to come with us. But it doesn't always work this way and we can’t ignore this calling for more.
But just because something feels comfortable doesn't necessarily mean it's where we're meant to stay.
I've experienced this so many times throughout my life.
Sometimes we hold on to what's familiar because we don't know what's waiting for us on the other side.
And that's where faith comes in.
Believing that the life we are called to is bigger than what we can even imagine in the moment.
So if you're in a season where you're working toward something big and feeling a little lonely…
You're definitely not alone. And you have to keep going. Keep the Faith. Get into communities where you feel understood. One day it will all make sense.
Talk soon,
Britt
